A sensory room stimulates the
senses with lights and sounds It should be a dark, small room in a
quiet part of the house.
We decided to build one to help our son and picked a large walk in closet in the basement. First the concrete floor had to be insulated to make it more inviting, so I used Amdry panels to add two inches of insulation. Next, we used foam tiles to create a colourful and warm floor, added various lights, a star projector, a gym mat, pillows and a cd player.
You can buy most of this stuff on amazon and the price is very reasonable, compared to ordering from the special needs catalog.
